Description

Apart from its ideal location, your first thoughts when you enter the house are likely to be surprise, when you see what is hidden behind the front door. The entrance corridor turns a 90 degree bend into the courtyard (a traditional Moorish feature to hide from prying eyes) which acts as the heart of the house. Huge wooden doors lead off to bedrooms, whilst the old mule quarters have been converted into a modern bathroom with twin sinks and underfloor heating. Stairs wind up inside the courtyard to the modern kitchen and large airy sitting room with 12 foot high beamed ceilings and a woodburning stove for chilly winter nights. Downstairs in the courtyard is also a large stove which takes the winter night chill off the whole house. More stairs lead you to the roof terrace with stunning views, a built-in barbecue area, proper seating and a second bathroom. Although we know that you are here to visit the town, staying in Casa de la Luz will help to make your stay truly unforgettable.

Suitability

Arcos is probably not an ideal location for very young children or the elderly or disabled due to the number of steep hills and stepped alleyways. Saying that, if you staying with kids we have a cot, high chair and toys you are welcome to borrow.

Local activities

Coast/Beach
The Costa de la Luz is only 40 minutes away. From Tarifa to Cadiz and beyond, the wide white sand beaches, backed in the most part by countryside and accessible via small country lanes are undoubtedly one of Spain’s best kept secrets. As well as sunbathing, the beaches are used extensively for kite surfing and horseriding.

Golf
The nearest course is the newly-opened, world-class Arcos Gardens, which is less than 5 minutes away. The course was designed and built by Landmark, and is set on rolling hills amongst ancient olive groves. The course also features Europe’s largest practice range.
Special offer -10% discount to Arcos Gardens. Ask for further details when enquiring.

Special interest holidays
One of the reasons we bought the property is for the outdoor sports available in the area. Everything from paragliding to mountain biking, sailing to hiking and horseriding to kitesurfing are available nearby. If you want to do any outdoor sports during your stay let us know in advance as we can advise you accordingly.
